NEWARK’S HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL TOWN SQUARE

Located between Park Place, Rector Street, and Broad Street lives a 6-acre historical park that serves as a downtown gathering space for the Newark community. Attracting children, adults, office workers, and more, Newark’s revitalized town square offers fitness, arts and culture programs, and children’s programs.

Prudential Tower

The iconic symbol of Newark’s commitment.

Newark’s iconic symbol of commitment stands tall on Broad Street, west of Military Park. This 650,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art office tower is within walking distance to a transit hub. Construction began in July of 2013 and opened in July of 2015.

NJPAC

Anchoring the culture of Newark is the NJPAC, New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The nonprofit arts organization delivers world-class performances, educational programs, and hosts free events and festivals throughout Newark. PRUDENTIAL CENTER

NEW JERSEY’S CENTER FOR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

New Jersey’s home for live entertainment prospers in the central business district, located one block from Gateway and two blocks from Newark Penn Station. The Prudential Center, operating since 2007, comprises an indoor arena that serves multiple entertainment purposes from sports, music, and other live events.

Across from the Prudential Center is the center of gravity in Newark’s growing downtown. The Mulberry Commons is a 22 acre, modernized, public park that features terraces, an interactive fountain, public art, and seating areas. The greenery of the walkways that lead to one of the nation’s busiest rail stations and entertainment centers provide a relaxing atmosphere for visitors.
